Why would tOkKie update about a Chritmas Krinkle coluring book at the end of September.. ?? Other than the fact we're in thr last qurter of the year.. the holiday is gonna be creeping up here faster than the time saw ya bein naughty by stealin' all that Snickers bars outta yir lil' sister's Trick-or-treats bag last Halloween..(i saw it.. for shame on you !!). Other than the fact there are 2 Holiday ornaments on the back of each book to clip,collect and hang on your upcoming Turtle Tree..tere i some strage imagery
within' the pages of the books. Images showing Savanti,Renet,Future Shredder,the Planet Racers and the Rat King crashin' in on the Turtle's party poopala. Kirby doodlon' up Christmas cards. A strange trinunal of 'Shredders' (??) hovering around a Christmas tree (??), Mozar,Traximus,Foot Mystics, and Shredder's elite,Karai are all mixed up on the bright,cheery and clourless pages (That's the part you gotta do..it's a colouring book,silly !!)..even a grey alien. Maybe Bishop's behind the scenes somewhere with Baxter plotting up another evil Elf Capturing plot against Santa.. cuz he ain' here so far.


Either this book is a potential Season 4 spoiler device ..or it's just plain weird .. GEE WHIZZ!!

Recently tho' ..my local Kmarts,Targets,Super Target,Toys R' US and Wal-marts (yes i have been looking hard-core)have been clearing some of their TMNT racks for apperantly new shippings. New vehicles have ben popping up next to the Current Monster Trappers and Combat Turtles.Let's hope some good baisic mixes and some Gens are on the way !!

Konami showed off the latest progress (--..click here for IGN's preview .. ~tOkK) on the new TMNT game, TMNT 3: Mutant Nightmare yesterday. Overall it seems like a bit of an improvement over the last two turtle games, but not by all too much. Worst of all however, Konami has made some severe rearrangements to the classic TMNT: Turtles in Time game that will be unlockable in Mutant Nightmare. Including their changes are replacing the classic "Pizza Power" song with the new show's theme and more baddies onscreen. Last night ..at Wal-mart.. doing my usual toy cruise..



There were stacks of TMNT Bonus packs on the pegs. Figure 2 packs in the older style packaging that has been around scince the TMNT toy line came out in late 2002 ..but on the same card (actually making one large card). The assortments included older figs : Scuba gear,Space Hoppin' TMNTs, Fighting gear, regular TMNTs,assorted villians & Turtle allies. Again while the assortment is older.. the price was the same as one regualr figure ;..under 6 bucks !! Baisically ..



Two figures for the price of one !!



I don't know if thiis is a Wal-mart exclusive..whatever the case.. if you missed some of the earlier figures from the past couple years.. this would be a great bargain and chance to catch up on your Turtle collection !!

Everyone’s favorite anthropomorphic reptiles,
Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello, return
to the funny books in Digital Webbing Presents #24.
While the Teenager Mutant Ninja Turtles are still
appearing in their own comic books from Mirage
Studios, namely TMNT and Tales of the TMNT, Kevin
Eastman and Peter Laird’s creations are making their
debut in Digital Webbing’s “Internet Collaborative”
anthology in the July issue of DWP.




“The story focuses on Raphael -- he's on his way to
deliver a mysterious package,” Ed Dukeshire, owner and
publisher of DWP explained. “Time is running out as
everyone is counting on him, but then he's ambushed
and outnumbered by Foot Soldiers.”




“Basically, I asked a buddy (Dan Berger) who worked at
Mirage Studios to hook me up. I've known Dan for close
to 10 years now. Dan used to write the syndicated TMNT
comic strip, so he's no stranger to the Turtles and
was my only choice to write this tale. He had some
ideas floating around, showed them to Peter for
approval and magic started happening. We wanted the
original Turtles and were fortunate enough that Peter
allowed it.




“My #1 choice for an artist was Andie Tong, who also
illustrated the Khenan feature in Digital Webbing
Presents #14. Andie is a huge TMNT fan and was very
excited to work on this story. I've known Andie for a
while now, and even worked with him on Masters of the
Universe. He's very professional, nails deadlines and
excellent to work with.




“Andie hooked me up with Darren Close to ink and
Jeremy Roberts to color/paint. The creative team
knocked this one out of the park -- you could tell
they were doing this for the love of the characters.”




“For me, it was a fun project that gave me a break
from my other gigs,” Tong added. “Further more, I can
now cross off another favorite 80s title on my list of
dream projects I'd like to work on. But hopefully, in
the future, I'll get an opportunity to pencil a
longer, more in depth storyline for these green
fighting machines. That would be grand."




The original black and white Eastman and Laird’s
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first debuted in 1984 and
proved successful enough to inspire a Saturday morning
cartoon in 1987, a live-action feature film and its
two sequels, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The
Secret of the Ooze and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
III: Turtles in Time, many video games and most
recently, a new animated series and the short-lived
Dreamwave comic by Peter David and LeSean Thomas in
2003.




For the record, TMNT co-creator Peter Laird even
previously lettered and edited the Gutwallow: Fury of
the Furry mini-series, also published by Digital
Webbing Press.




According to Dukeshire, the publisher is celebrating
the fifth year of publishing the anthology this year.

It's
been too long since I posted anything up here at Mikey's, and yet it seems I've not been working on any comics, BUT... I have been keeping up and staying on track. It's just I keep forgetting to mention it on here, as Dribble For Kids has moved onto Issue 5, which is the Season Finale to Season 2. Oooo the drama of it all! 

 

When
Last we left on Page 19 of Issue 4: Fellowship of the Sweater, The Masked 1 has attacked the D4K gang and is tearing the bar in the mall up, looking for them, but more importantly, looking for the sweater!! Find out what happens at the end of Issue 4's... "shocking" conclusion, as it heads to the Season Finale of Season 2, which is Lord of the Sweaters Chapter 3: Betrayal of the Sweater, which is already on Page 5.

In Chapter
3 of Lord of the Sweaters, Charlie, Jimmy and a slowly mentally
unstable Penny must fend off the Masked 1 and his new co-hort Denny!  It
seems SAPS Incorporated is gaining the upperhand... if only Nick and Nate were
still alive to rescue them!  Ah, but there is something else, no-- SOMEONE
else at work here, which will throw the odds back in our heroes' favor... or it
will be the ruin of them....

Considering the way the franchise has been handled recently, I guess it's safe to assume the new movie will be based far more strongly on the original comic books than previous efforts. Based on what little can be seen of Leonardo himself, the Turtles seem based visually on their initial appearances - small bodies, big hands/forearms, "sharper" facial features... The focus on that sharp, shining blade doesn't exactly make me foresee the guys playing football with cans of ooze or fighting off ninjas with a set of cymbals, either. I was sort of hoping they'd go all out and put all four Turtles in the red headbands, but I wasn't really expecting it. Looks good, though. Very good.
