-->> Rat Pack??

-I find stuff like the following a little disturbed..& damm it's like the early 1990s all over again.. back in the day the TMNTs were a constant target for parental goups and often it seemed as if the parental groups were more comprised of nothing but irresponsible people that complained about the stae of affiars about anything ..within' their own narrow minded opinions were considered acceptable Television watching, video game playing..or toy playing.
The past decade presented monumental Rating systems for so many things.. it's fairly common now to see a rating for every single television show on the air.. ('cept the nightly news..go figure).. and every single Video game has a rating as well--E - M (rated Everyone to Mature). While the TMNT incedents were a bit more isolated , it was a precursor of the years to follow.. cracking down on everything ..like the old 'comics code' you would see on comic covers that were 'acceptable' for kids to read. Well.. a new generation of TMNTs have spawned a new generation of watch-dog groups..willing to keep an eye on the TMNT..making sure that the shell-backs fit the standard of 'non-vilolent'..

CTV,Canada's Report..::
A group aimed at transforming "children's war chests into toy chests" has released its annual lists of 12 violent toys to avoid and 20 peaceful alternatives. Topping the "dirty dozen" this year: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The Lion and Lamb Project finds very little heroic about the "heroes in a half shell" of the early 90s, who are being relaunched for another generation.
The Turtles "behave according to a vigilante code, where they (and not law enforcement officials) are "judge, jury and enforcer!'" according to the Maryland-based group's Web site.
..

Lion and Lamb's list is here.. while thay don't single TMNTs out..( there are other popular toy lines in the list X-men,Power Rangers,Transformers..ect.) ;TMNT's 'Casey Jones' figure is a the tippy-top.
..i get leery about stuff like this.. while i understand parents' concerns about what children are exposed to.. it can verge very VERY close to all out censorship.. but hopefully ..by now.. in 2003 Mirage Studios has more creative control over the situation and maybe it won't get so out of control like the Turtles had faced in the early '90s. I don't have the answers..but where does individual parental supervision kick in.. ?? I don't know.. i don't have kids.. but i know alot of kids.. immpresional as kids can be.. they aren't dumb.. good parental direction goes a long way.. but well.. .. what can ya do ?? Maybe parents are askin' themselves the same question

4Kids Entertainment Licenses Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Cartoon Network; FOX BOX Animated Series To Join Cartoon Network Lineup In Spring 2004

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 24, 2003--
FOX BOX To Continue Airing First-Run TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES In Its Saturday Morning Lineup

4Kids Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: KDE) announced today that it has licensed the U.S. cable television rights to the first 40 episodes of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES to Cartoon Network. These episodes of the animated series will be part of Cartoon Network's lineup beginning Spring 2004.

The TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES series will continue all first-run broadcasts of new episodes on the FOX BOX, 4Kids Entertainment's weekend morning four-hour program block. 4Kids has already picked up the series for the 2004-2005 broadcast season. In addition, 4Kids will continue to be able to broadcast the first 40 episodes of the series on the FOX BOX.

"The TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES have won the hearts of a whole new generation of fans," said Al Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment. "We're pleased to be able to broadcast the series with Cartoon Network. Now that we're adding the Cartoon Network audience, we're certain that many more kids across the country will become part of the growing craze and get 'Turtle-ized.'"

Now in its second season on the FOX BOX, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, which is produced by 4Kids Entertainment and Mirage Licensing, Inc., features the colorful characters, exciting ninja action and irreverent humor that sparked TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES mania more than a dozen years ago, but updated for today's kids with an all-new edgier look and feel.

The legend of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES begins when four, ordinary pet store turtles are exposed to a mysterious green ooze. The turtles are rescued by a kind and intelligent rat named Splinter, the former pet of a ninja master, who adopts them, and takes them to live with him in his lair below the streets of New York City. After realizing they are all being mutated by their exposure to the mysterious ooze, Splinter teaches his charges the ninjitsu skills he has observed, and trains them in the honorable and heroic Bushido code. The four TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES - Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo - use their new skills to battle the evil Shredder and The Foot Clan, his formidable legion of ninja warriors, in the 30-minute action-adventure comedy series. (This press release contains forward-looking statements. Due to the fact that 4Kids Entertainment, Inc., faces competition from toy companies, television networks, motion picture studios and other licensing companies, and the uncertainty of public response to the Company's properties, actual results or outcomes may differ materially from any such forward-looking statements and further legal mumbo-jumbo.)

Hey everyone. I updated Thursday or so... and I forgot to post it up here again. In a way, i was hoping to hear anything regarding any TMNT-related webcomics that some of you have. As I said in my last post, I am trying to get a database of TMNT fan-comics or webcomics dealing with the TMNT in some form or fashion (such as the characters being a fan of the TMNT) and if you update it once a week, I could do a mass-update here on Mikey's TMNT. So if you have a friend who has a webcomic that matches that degree, or heck, you do, then e-mail me.

Regarding D4K: This week I have decided to do at least two comic strip updates per week as with the storyline and the passing of jokes per minute, and with me trying to find ways to get to those possible jokes without jumping from storyline, I find it a bit nerve-wracking. LOL. There are plenty of Looney Tunes/The Matrix jokes I could have done, but... ah the fun of storylines. :-) Expect a Looney Tunes reference here within the next week or so. But until then.. bear with me. I am shaping up the future of D4K, whether or not it's pure jokes per strip, or maybe some serious tones, with no punchline, sometimes in the comic. But anyhoo, here is this last Thursday's update.

On a Heavy Related TMNT note which ties into Dribble For Kids.... I am looking into going to comic-cons, and one of the ones I was looking at, was the most local one I could find. I live 20 mins from Columbus, and guess what, November 28th thru November 30th, Kevin Eastman will be at the Mid-Ohio Comic-Con! Well that is the flyer, but looking on the site, www.midohiocon.com, you will find that Kevin is really there Sunday, in Panel Room A, starting at 2pm! A definate for TMNT fans and for Kevin's more mature fans, (dealing with Heavy Metal and the like...)

I'm definately gonna check this out. Not to like, suggestively sell, but if you are a fan of Seinfeld, the Soup Nazi will be there, and so will Brad Douriff (Wormtounge from LOTR: The Two Towers and Return of the King) and Walter Koening from Star Trek, and much much more. The tickets stop selling online November 24th, so definately check it out! Kevin's questionare is sponsored by a local comic shop.

Maybe I may see some of you there? And next time I'll try to find out about it much sooner. So let's recap, shall we?

Thursday's Dribble for Kids strip.

Have a comic strip with TMNT mentioned in it or done by you, A TMNT fan? If so, E-mail me.

Check out, buy tickets and go to the Mid-Ohio Comic Con to see Kevin Eastman and MUCH MUCH MORE!

Have a good weekend!

Alright. Love the space!

Okay, there is a new comic, been up since thursday or So. I've just been lazy about getting it up here. As such, I'm gonna do a webcomic call.

If you have a TMNT-based comic of some sort, fan-fiction or... please e-mail at NArgan@aol.com. That way when I do my updates, I can update all of you on other fan comics and the like! So... if you have a webcomic which in someway incorporates TMNT, or IS a TMNT webcomic, then drop me a line. Usually, my updates are every Thursday as it is when I update my comic usually, and post it on here. It's something Mikey wanted to do, and I thought I'd get a jump start on things. :-)

I guess I'll also do normal fan-fiction based updates as well, so if you updated your fan fiction you've been writing for like years and want people to know, check it out, tell me about it!

People have been begging me to make the update window bigger for a long time... Originally, I meant for it to just contain quick little updates that led to other parts of the site, but Tokka's really pumped it up with updates from all over the world of TMNT.

So, I've made the window bigger... It's also made the entire interface a bit bigger, so if you have a smaller monitor, I'm sorry.... Try maximizing the browser window... maybe that'll help.

Anyway, that's it from this corner. I'm sure Tokka's got some more awesome turtley news to announce. So I'll return to my spot behind-the-scenes.

I almost forgot... I finally added Pizza Power to the MP3 page... Remember, right now the mp3s are located at a temporary page that is located here... bookmark it.

A VIDEO GAME HINT:  For those interested, a little hint for
all you TMNT video game players... beat the game with Raphael first, and finish
the game with either Donatello or Leonardo.  Raphael is a harder character
as the game progresses, as his weapon is shorter and doesn't have the same
reach, so he can take quite a beating.  It took me a while to beat Shredder
with Raphael.   ;-)  Mikey is good cos his speed is amazing, so
make sure you keep him in the last two battles.  Specially since if you
beat the game with all 4 turtles, you unlike the battle with Oruku Saki, as
himself, and not Shredder, Mikey's speed comes in handy as his combos are MEGA
hard.  This applies for PS2, X-Box and Gamecube versions. :-)

Also, Dribble for Kids has celebrated it's 50th
comic strip
.  And being this is a joyous occasion, such as, I never
truly expected for this to be a "on-going thing", in reality.  In
my dreams, I saw this going on for a while but I didn't think I had the time to
keep doing it, nor the attention span.  I wanted to thank everyone, but
mostly everyone at Mikey's TMNT, including Mike himself.  He was there in
the beginning of the strip, when it was a article, and then supported me with
the strip by posting it on his site, and even when the strip continues off on www.dribbleforkids.com
and Drunk Duck!, still
even tho this day.  and most of my hits either come from advertising I buy
or this site right here.  I can't thank you all enough.

With that said, a little TMNT
surprise
somewhat is in the 50th
strip
.  I am trying to find ways, more and more each day to incorporate
the TMNT-love that some of the characters may have.  I hafta work it in
gradually, but...  it's slowly coming. :-)

Also, I did a new
cover
, which I poured alot of work into, (as some of you can tell, I
apparently learned how to use Photoshop and taking full advantage of it, eh?)
and it's a start of a new format I have.  Which is, do covers like a
comic-book, somewhat silly stories, but have it be like a serial, via Rocky And
Bullwinkle in comic form.  A normal comic strip with comic-like stories and
covers.  And with that, I present to you all, the
first ever cover for Dribble For Kids, issue 1
.  Entitled "O
Brother, Who Truly Art Thou?"
, it presents a new and horrifying truth,
that one of the characters has a brother! Dun dun dun....

Okay, so, let's recap.

50th
Strip.

New
Cover.

Major thanks for supporting and visiting the comic strip.
