Hugs and PuppiesIt's the little things in life that make you happy, right? A good laugh during a long day at work, hearing a 7-year-old singing her heart out to her favorite song, someone telling you that you look good, or when you're at a restaurant and someone close by is wearing the same perfume that you remember your mom wearing when you were a kid.Yeah, they made me smile. I felt pretty happy. I really need a vacation from work. It's the same thing day in and day out. I'm looking forward to the trip to California that's coming up in a few weeks. But first I need to survive the hellish crap that'll come before it. I have this coming Saturday off to attend my cousin's wedding, where I guess my family is hoping to pick up pointers on how-to-do-weddings. Julie's wedding is coming up on the 12th of July. It's getting down to the nitty gritty and it's just gonna get so much more hellish the closer it gets. Comic-con is coming though, so that's something to look forward to. Money will be tight this year, but I'm not looking for too much to add to my collection at this point. So hopefully, it won't be too much of an issue. All that's left is to find good flight rates. Which I'm having a very difficult time finding. Saturday is the debut of the new Harry Potter book. Been waiting three years for this one and yes... the anticipation is there. I reserved my copy at WaldenBooks, so Vanessa and I are planning on showing up at 5:30 am to wait in line. There's a big party going on tomorrow at a local independant book seller. They're planning a costume contest, free Bertie Bott's and cauldron cakes, wand-making, etc. It'll be really fun and they are going to start selling the books just after midnight. But I just don't have $30 to spend on this book. At Walden's it'll come out to less than 20... So, to hell with the festivities. I'm confident this book will be awesome. Just one more thing to add to my "hugs and puppies" file... Yeah, these kind of things make me happy. I hope others can see that too. Mikey was being stupid at 11:35 PM :: |
