“Ryan Brown’s alma mater, Norwayne High School in Creston, Ohio is selling an exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt to benefit their arts programs. The shirts are also available at the middle school in Creston, and two elementary schools, one in Sterling and one in Burbank. Their mascot is the Bobcat hence the phrase “I love being a Bobcat” on the shirt.”

MirageLicensing.com looks to be the new home of Mirage Studios, now also known as the Mirage Group. The site’s still got a few pages under construction, but they do list the creators’ blogs, current and upcoming TMNT comics and online ordering.

Rose :: “So, how many times can you get over the cancellation of the TMNT Adventures conclusion, “The Forever War”? Having first been canceled when the title itself was canceled in the mid-90s, and after several on-and-off broken promises throughout this decade that Mirage would publish the 5-part story, fans were given hope that the project might actually see the light of day as it was put on Mirage’s schedule as part of the 25th anniversary celebration.
As such, a lead-up TPB was released in July that collected key stories that would lead up to what we would see in “The Forever War.” Unfortunately, circumstances seemed to put the project into a holding pattern and its release once again became uncertain.
Now, in light of the recent purchase of the TMNT by Nickelodeon/Viacom, Mirage has been forced to make a definitive decision on the fate of this title, and, unfortunately, the news isn’t good news.
In an e-mail to long-time TMNT fan Andrew M., Steve Murphy has made it official that the story is canceled and will not be published.

I suppose this really isn’t unexpected, but it remains disappointing. Once again the Turtles don’t get a proper farewell. Alas…”

Biography Bookshop, 11th St. and Bleecker St., West Village, NYC
They call it Biography Bookshop because (surprise!) they specialize in biographies, but the selection of books goes far beyond the namesake’s genre. The tables of books lining the front of the store outside are must-browse selections, and at half off or more, they’re nearly irresistible bargains….
Of course, I immediately recognized the 11th & Bleecker address as that of the Second Time Around building — the antique shop and apartment April O’Neil lived in back in the original TMNT film. Reading through the blog entry, I realized that I felt a sense of just as much nostalgia for 11th & Bleecker as this guy did for the Biography Books bookshop that stands at that spot. It turns out that the bookshop is closing and relocating down the street under a different name to make way for a Marc Jacobs store… Marc Jacobs. Really?
It’s cool to see that the producers of Ninja Turtles got the vibe just right for what kind of establishment should be located in the area. It’s sad, though, to see it shut down for the sake of yet another trendy clothing store.
Ah well … It IS New York, and people gotta have their fashion!

With television, movie, video game &Â merchandising rights all but guaranteed( or should is say GUARANTEED ?? ).. .. there are many fears of what will come giving the uncertainty of what will happen to the TMNT’ hard core & original, Turtle comic book origins. So many questions surrounding the dealings of the past couple of weeks here.
Do Nick and Viacom risk alienating the Mirage Turtle comic book fans ?! Will Paramount be able to really deliver the hard edged TMNT film so many fans have dreamed of for so very long ?! At this point, do they even care ?!
Despite this rough transitional period .. there is a group of creative ,young individuals solely devoted to the original comic origins and the push to adapt those original tales for the Turtles 5th big screen venture.
A bold proclamation and a brave one in these uncertain TMNT times.
