The Jackie Chan Adventures
A Spooky Night In Disney's Haunted Mansion
"This story based on the New Orleans Square attraction and
the LP DisneyLand record STORY AND SONGS OF THE HAUNTED MANSION
tells the tale of Ninjara, Jackie Chan, Jade & Raphael trapped
inside a antebellum manor house during a storm and experience
a nightmare they will never forget!"
Have you ever seen a haunted house? You know the
kind I mean. That old dark house that's usually at the end
of a dimly lit street. The owners haven't been seen for
years no one really knows why. The windows are broken and
boarded and the shutters hang loose on their hinges. The
sidewalk leading up to the porch is broken and overgrown with
grass & weeds. The trees have grown wild their branches
brush against the sides of the weathering house making strange
noises in the night. There's a high vine-covered fence around
the property with a rusty squeaky gate. Is it there to keep
somebody out or is it there to keep something inside???
It's a house that people avoid walking past at night...strange
sounds come from within its walls and it's said that errie lights
can be seen both in the attic windows and in the cemetary to the
side of the house. Our story revolves around this mysterious
mansion...
Nights not long ago 4 friends were walking home from a movie
aka STAR WARS EPISODE II "Attack Of The Clones" the night was
cool as lightning broke through the skies. The wind began
to blow and the lightning cracked again. Thunder rolled
across the heavens and changed this pleasant evening into a night
to be remembered. Ninjara held Raphael's hand tightly as
they began to walk faster down the dark streets. The lightning
struck again and illuminated the front of the old mansion...it
began to rain. Jackie Chan, Jade, Raphael & Ninjara
ran towards the old house through the old iron gate and onto the
porch for protection. Protection??? If only they had
known...
NINJARA
Oh Ralph, <Worried> look at that rain come down.
We'll never get home now.
RAPHAEL
Sure we will, it's not quite midnight.
JACKIE CHAN
But this old porch isn't gonna keep us dry though.
He starts tugging-pulling on the stuck front door. The others
watch in panic.
JADE
Jackie, what are you doing?
JACKIE CHAN
Trying to get front door open. No one lives here we can
wait inside till the storm's over.
RAPHAEL
I dunno...rumors going around say this house is haunted, no
one has moved into this house or rented it after the origional
owners passed away.
NINJARA <Nervous>
Not me, I'm not going inside that house. I'd rather stay
out here and get wet.
JADE
Me too, I got a bad feeling about this.
Finally the stuntman opens the door and peers inside for a
second or two or three before turning back to his friends.
JACKIE CHAN
There. C'mon, don't be afraid. I'll light a match.
Removing a book from his pocket he struck a match and cupping
it in his hands stares into the gloom. The friends discovered
themselves to be standing inside a large room called the Front
Parlor-Foyer. Furniture covered in dust & spiderwebs
abound everywhere. Large windows gave views of the outside
even though panes are missing from their frames and patched up
with wood & cardboard. Curtains hung down like limp
flags in a still wind. A crystal chandelier hung from the
ceiling with flickering candles giving off the only source of
light as other candles set into scounces along the walls cast
wierd shadow patterns on the wallpaper. Two large doors
set apart from each other face the friends at the other end of
the chamber, both closed at the moment.
JACKIE CHAN
Well I'll be, <Looks around> this house is still full
of furniture.
RAPHAEL
It's as though someone still lived here.
JADE
If that's so...then where are the owners of this house?
NINJARA
Either they died or moved away to another city or town.
No one really knows.
RAPHAEL
Yo, Chan. There's a candelabrum, light some candles.
JACKIE CHAN
Ok, this match is about to burn out.
Quickly he struck another match and attached the flame to the
candleholders but as he did so...a ghostly voice echos out of
nowhere startling the friends.
GHOST HOST
Good evening...
NINJARA <Caught by suprise>
Wh-who said that?
JADE
Who spoke?
JACKIE CHAN
I think it came from that marble bust.
RAPHAEL
Auuuugh! <Yells like Charlie Brown> A talking statue?!!
NINJARA
Let's get out of here!
JADE
Let me out of here!
Unfortunately as they run towards the door it began to swing
shut by itself and closes!!! Now the gang are trapped ALIVE
with no means of escaping from this cursed nightmare.
JACKIE CHAN
The door closed! <He tries tugging-yanking the knob>
I can't get it open.
JADE
Oh no, that's it. Now we're doomed.
RAPHAEL
Good grief, now what?
NINJARA
Ralph, Chan, do something!
JACKIE CHAN
What? Do what?
RAPHAEL
The door's stuck again, no way to open it again.
At the same time the unseen voice continues speaking though
no one present is revealed to be the speaker.
GHOST HOST
Welcome foolish mortals to the haunted mansion...I am your
host, your Ghost Host...Kindly step this way, there's no turning
back now...You will not be harmed but you will not be released
until you take a tour of my home...We have so few visitors...live
ones that is...hmhmhmahahahahaah...Our tour begins here in this
ghostly gallery...
At that moment one of the 2 doors slides open magically to
reveal another room beyond. Chan, Ninjara, Raphael &
Jade too frightened to find another way out obeyed their host's
voice and entered the candle-lit gallery. The art gallery
was a large room its walls were covered with paintings.
As the friends stepped into the room the door behind them slid
closed.
