Okay, so far we have learned the origin of Man
Ray and Leatherhead. Man Ray is somewhere in the East Coast and
Leatherhead is in Dimension X on Stump Asteroid. The Turtles have
returned to Earth, but are stranded on the roof of a building in
the middle of a thunderstorm. The next two members of the Mighty
Mutanimals will make their entrance with a bang!
Issue #8: Wild Things
A terrible screeching took the turtles by surprise
as they felt the pelting of the hard rain drops. Then, BONK, Raphael
felt the pelting of stones on the back of his head. A giant man-bat
flew around the startled mutants as a smaller mosquito creature
sat on his back. "Faithful Screwloose" handed his "boss"
another stone to throw, and Wingnut let it fly through the air.
SMASH! It slammed right through the skylight of the building. Actually,
that's what this duo were aiming at.
"Over a thousand skylights across the city
have been broken tonight. Broken... by stones thrown by an unknown
hand." April reported the news from her desk at Channel 6,
and the Turtles, now home with Splinter, watched on the television.
The Turtles decided to do something about Wingnut
and Screwloose. They took off in their blimp to find the creeps,
but were ambushed with a sharp talon. Wingnut deflated the blimp,
sending the turtles into better maneuverability in the glider. The
Turtles finally bested Wingnut and Screwloose but tying them up
in ropes. Wingnut sobbed, and Screwloose put him into a deep sleep
by injecting him with his needle nose.
While Wingnut was out, Screwloose explained
to the turtles why he feared by tied up so much.
"Wingnut is from Huanu, a planet with a
perpetual red night... Wingnut lived happily with his parents. He
was their only child. Not long ago, alien invaders came to conquer
Huanu... Wingnut's parents were killed at the beginning of the invasion,
as were most of his people. With all of its females dead, his race
is doomed to certain extinction. ... He probably wouldn't have made
it this far... if it wasn't for me. ... I, too, am from the planet
Huanu. My people had a symbiotic relationship with Wingnut's people:
They would provide us with blood ... while our bite was their only
means of sleep. Together, our symbiosis had lasted millions of years.
Krang's invaders ended it within hours."
"KRANG?!" The Turtles were incredulous.
They had not realized how evil this banished warlord was.
Screwloose went on to explain that someone needed
to stop Krang, and Wingnut burst out of the ropes exclaiming that
they were going to be the one's to do it. But, there were to be
other plans for Wingnut and Screwloose. Out of nowhere, Cudley the
Cowlick appeared and slurped up the duo. He explained to the Turtles
that they had come into this world through a rip in the continuum
that he caused when he had last been there. Now, they would be taken
to Stump Asteroid where Mister Stump had big plans for them.
Cudley disappeared into the sky.
