**”It’s been roughly a year and a half since the release of season 8 of TMNT 80s. With the sale of the property to Viacom things looked bleak for the release of the final two seasons. Today Lionsgate announced that Season 9 will be released August 16, 2011 on DVD. The single disk release will include all 8 episodes that made up the season and will run about $14.98. No cover art has been release, but it should be just around the next sewer tunnel. It could be very likely that Season 10 will be released before the end of the year. Cowabunga!!!!”

“ComicsAlliance.com has a story today with details on IDW’s new TMNT comic book series, scheduled to begin this August. The meat of the information is thus:

..”Debuting in August, the new series by original Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, co-writer Tom Waltz and artist Dan Duncan sets out to reimagine the original TMNT in a contemporary setting. Rather than serve as a port for Nickelodeon’s upcoming animated continuity, the 32-page, full-color comics will establish a fresh universe populated by both new and classic characters. What’s more, in addition to co-writing, Eastman will contribute page layouts and variant covers alongside artists such as Sam Keith and Walt Simonson.”..

“After Archie Comics canceled the “Mighty Mutanimals” Steve Murphy (aka Dean Clarrain) told me they may return in the TMNT books one day. I was still on the Archie comp list, and one day an issue of TMNT arrived at my door.. I was stunned to see the Mutanimals had returned only to be literally murdered.

I made this sketch and ran it in the fanzine Rowrbrazzle. Somehow, Murphy saw the drawing, and called me to ask if he could run it in the TMNT comic. I said yes.

I liked drawing these characters, and the comics sold very briskly on the newsstands. I was never completely sure why the book got cancelled. ” — Mike Kazaleh;Animator, comic book artist; i.e. Mighty Mutanimals, TMNTA, Ren & Stimpy, ect. –
