With television, movie, video game &  merchandising rights all but guaranteed( or should is say GUARANTEED ?? ).. .. there are many fears of what will come giving the uncertainty of what will happen to the TMNT’ hard core & original, Turtle comic book origins. So many questions surrounding the dealings of the past couple of weeks here.

Do Nick and Viacom risk alienating the Mirage Turtle comic book fans ?! Will Paramount be able to really deliver the hard edged TMNT film so many fans have dreamed of for so very long ?! At this point, do they even care ?!

Despite this rough  transitional period .. there is a group of creative ,young individuals solely devoted to the original comic origins and the push to adapt those original tales for the Turtles 5th big screen venture.

A bold proclamation  and a brave one in these uncertain TMNT times.

Very sad news coming from Panel to Panel.net

The MIRAGE UNIVERSE is canceled and refunds for pre-orders are being issued. And yes it is a serious bummer! Mirage has been so great to and for P2P since day one, I’m very sad for this chapter to end.

Please let us know what else you’d like to see. We need to know. It’s amazing how much turtle business we’ve done over the years, but we can’t figure what else turtle fans read. We’ll keep selling turtle books as long as we can get them.

So there you have it Turtles Fans we need to help Panel to Panel as much as we can. Email them what other books you read besides Turtles at info@paneltopanel.net.

Since Variety is usually considered a pretty reliable source for entertainment news, it seems that the rumors may be true:

Ninja Turtles move to Nickelodeon
Viacom division acquires franchise for $60 million

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — one of the most successful franchises in entertainment — are taking their crime-fighting ways to Viacom.

Nickelodeon, a division of Viacom, has acquired the global rights to the property from the Mirage Group and 4Kids Entertainment. Additionally, Nick’s sister company Paramount will steer a new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” feature to the bigscreen, planned for 2012. Scott Mednick (“300″) is producing the pic.

Deal, which gives Nick the global intellectual property rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, cost $60 million.

The only thing I’m concerned about is whether we’ll EVER see a “mature audiences” side of the TMNT again and what this means for Mirage. For the past few years that side of the TMNT has been taken care of with Tales (and to some extent Vol. 4), but what’s going to happen with the TMNT in the hands of a corporation aimed at pre-teens?

I believe the aformentioned mission-badge Logo is about the 3 MPLMs named Leonardo, Raffaello, & Donatello. They are basically modules that are designed so that they can be used for a lot of things, but right now they are mainly used for hauling stuff back and forth between earth and the international space station. .. “
