Howdy Dirk,

Q> I wanted to report that the BTTS episode “Super Power Struggle” didn’t air. Instead, they repeated the first episode, namely “Tempus Fugit”.
A> Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

Q> According to your episode guide, it was supposed to air today. Could you perhaps find out why it was changed?
A> I’ll ask, but I rarely get a response. Typically it’s due to problems getting the episode completed by the air date. Q> 1. Is there any news of another season (example: negotiations between 4Kids/Imagine/Playmates etc)?
A> At this time, BTTS will be the final new season. No work has begun on any new episodes.

Q> 2. Is someone already making a script for TMNT2, or has a sequel been “canned”/put on hiatus/TBD? A> No script will be written until we can get a movie deal signed as the studio will want to hire the writer/s. We’re still in negotiations with a film studio regarding a new movie deal. Things are going slow due to the floundering economy.

Q> 3. 4Kids showed us pictures of Karai and Leatherhead with BTTS animation. Are they gonna appear in the final episode or were they > removed fromt the final product?
A> As far as I know, both will make an appearance this season.

Yep, well, it seems the Turtles are to make their RPG comeback to the mobile platform next year courtesy of Czech Republic developer Nostromo – the team responsible for Silver Award-winning Garfield 2: Royal Adventure. The new Turtles game follows the recent plot line about the Ninja Tribunal, and we’re told it’s focused around 12 never-before-seen ‘lost episodes’ of the TV series.

TMNT: Ninja Tribunal will feature two modes of play – one placing you in an explorative adventure style, while the other adopts a turn-based battle scenario. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo will all be present and correct (and a little bit older, of course) and will need you to help them work together to unravel the mystery of the enigmatic Ninja Tribunal.

Nostromo will be following this game up with TMNT: The Shredder Reborn at the end of Spring 2009, so it looks set to be quite a mutagenic New Year.

What’s that expression again? Ah yes. Ahem… cowabunga, dudes ! .. ”

..it would appear that these figures from Playmates may be styled off the Mike Dooney / Pete Laird Turtles from the cover of TMNT Volume 4 #1 ..

Newt :: ” I thought I’d drop some more information on the upcoming TMNT game. It is being designed specifically for the Wii, but has potential to be ported to other consoles down the line. However at the moment this is a WII game, exclusively.

From the article:

Q: Will the game release on other consoles, either simultaneously or down the road?

A: I can’t really comment on that.

Given that the design team is almost exclusively Wii developers, this is a good thing. There has been criticism of Wii getting the worst of the third party titles. However when a title is developed SPECIFICALLY for the Wii, it tends to be very good. That seems to be the case here. There is a lot of talk of it being played online via the Wii.

Also a hint of DS game as well:

Q: Are any other games planned, such as on the DS to tie into the Wii title?

A: I can’t comment just yet, but suffice to say we have some very exciting plans for TMNT.

It looks visually impressive, sorry for the flash (not easy to photograph a magazine and I don’t have a scanner) but the designs are straight out of the TMNT movie. Including several levels that appeared in the movie such as the NYC rooftops. There is a picture of a huge alligator (Leatherhead?) trying to eat one of the turtles as well, which suggests a lot of level interactivity.  .. .. ”
